Pennsylvania backed Clinton (Democratic) in the 1992 presidential election, casting 23 electoral votes for the ticket. Pennsylvania ended up on the winning side — Bill Clinton captured the White House that year.

It marked the 2nd consecutive election in which Pennsylvania backed the Democratic party, a streak reaching back to 1988.
