2024
Reading the 2024 result in Indiana
Indiana backed Trump (Republican) in the 2024 presidential election, casting 11 electoral votes for the ticket. That placed Indiana with the eventual winner: Donald Trump went on to take the presidency, and Indiana was part of his column.
Indiana stayed in the Republican column for the 4th straight cycle, extending a run that began in 2012. The region divided — Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan joined Indiana for the Republican ticket, while Illinois did not. Over its 53 recorded presidential cycles, Indiana has backed the Republican party more than any other — 32 times in all. The vote fell within the Modern Polarization — Close elections in a divided country.
Nationally, Donald Trump finished with 312 of the 538 electoral votes to Kamala Harris's 226. Donald Trump led the national popular vote with 49.8% of the ballots cast.
