The 1952 contest saw Connecticut line up behind Eisenhower, delivering 8 electoral votes to the Republican ticket. Connecticut ended up on the winning side — Dwight D. Eisenhower captured the White House that year.

It marked the 2nd consecutive election in which Connecticut backed the Republican party, a streak reaching back to 1948. The region divided — New York and Massachusetts joined Connecticut for the Republican ticket, while Rhode Island did not. Across the 60 presidential elections Connecticut has taken part in, it has most often sided with the Democratic party (24 times). The vote fell within the New Deal Coalition — FDR, civil rights, and the long Democratic majority.
