2020
Reading the 2020 result in Nebraska
Nebraska backed Trump (Republican) in the 2020 presidential election, casting 4 electoral votes for the ticket. The presidency went elsewhere: Joe Biden (Democratic) won nationally, while Nebraska had backed a different ticket.
Nebraska stayed in the Republican column for the 14th straight cycle, extending a run that began in 1968. The region divided — South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and Wyoming joined Nebraska for the Republican ticket, while Colorado did not. Over its 40 recorded presidential cycles, Nebraska has backed the Republican party more than any other — 31 times in all. The vote fell within the Modern Polarization — Close elections in a divided country.
Nationally, Joe Biden finished with 306 of the 538 electoral votes to Donald Trump's 232. Joe Biden led the national popular vote with 51.31% of the ballots cast.
