Arkansas stayed in the Democratic column for the 13th straight cycle, extending a run that began in 1876. Arkansas did not move alone — neighboring Missouri, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma broke the same way in 1924. Over its 47 recorded presidential cycles, Arkansas has backed the Democratic party more than any other — 32 times in all. The vote fell within the Roaring Twenties — Republican dominance to the Great Depression.
Nationally, Calvin Coolidge finished with 382 of the 531 electoral votes to John W. Davis's 136. Calvin Coolidge led the national popular vote with 54.04% of the ballots cast.
