Colorado stayed in the Democratic column for the 2nd straight cycle, extending a run that began in 1912. Over its 37 recorded presidential cycles, Colorado has backed the Republican party more than any other — 19 times in all. The vote fell within the Progressive Era — Trust-busting, suffrage, and World War I.

Nationally, Woodrow Wilson finished with 277 of the 531 electoral votes to Charles Evans Hughes's 254. Woodrow Wilson led the national popular vote with 49.24% of the ballots cast.
