Write about errors, questions on how a page was put together, teachers’ and librarians’ questions, takedown or removal requests, and press. One person reads every message, so a reply can take a week or more. There is no phone line and no contact form.

Corrections

If you find a wrong number, name, date or claim, email theamericanvote.team@gmail.com with the page address, what it says, what you think it should say, and a source if you have one.

  1. We check the claim against public sources.
  2. If the page is wrong, we fix it.
  3. The fix is recorded, with its date, in the corrections log below. We do not quietly rewrite a page.
  4. If we decide the page is right, we reply with the source we relied on.

Corrections log

  • 2026-10-03. Removed a generated sentence that wrongly said neighbouring states changed sides together (for example on the Florida 2000 page). Maine and Nebraska district votes, faithless electors and unpledged slates are now shown wherever a state’s electoral votes appear. The “Closest elections” ranking no longer ranks the elections of 1789 to 1800 or 1824, and says how closeness is measured. The 1860 classroom packet was fact-checked claim by claim and 59 statements were corrected or removed.
  • 2026-10-03. State results were corrected across more than a dozen elections after the electoral-vote data was rebuilt from cited sources. For example, New York in 1840 had shown Van Buren (Harrison won it) and Kansas in 1936 had shown Landon (Roosevelt won it).
