The 2024 contest saw New Hampshire line up behind Harris, delivering 4 electoral votes to the Democratic ticket. Nationally the result broke the other way — Donald Trump (Republican) won the presidency, leaving New Hampshire among the states he did not carry.
It marked the 6th consecutive election in which New Hampshire backed the Democratic party, a streak reaching back to 2004. New Hampshire did not move alone — neighboring Vermont, Massachusetts, and Maine broke the same way in 2024. Across the 59 presidential elections New Hampshire has taken part in, it has most often sided with the Republican party (28 times). The vote fell within the Modern Polarization — Close elections in a divided country.
In the national count, Donald Trump took 312 of the 538 electoral votes, against Kamala Harris's 226. Donald Trump led the national popular vote with 49.8% of the ballots cast.
