In 1908, Wyoming awarded its 3 electoral votes to Taft of the Republican party. Wyoming ended up on the winning side — William Howard Taft captured the White House that year.

It marked the 3rd consecutive election in which Wyoming backed the Republican party, a streak reaching back to 1900. The region divided — Montana, South Dakota, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho joined Wyoming for the Republican ticket, while Nebraska did not.
