The 2020 contest saw Oklahoma line up behind Trump, delivering 7 electoral votes to the Republican ticket. Nationally the result broke the other way — Joe Biden (Democratic) won the presidency, leaving Oklahoma among the states he did not carry.

It marked the 14th consecutive election in which Oklahoma backed the Republican party, a streak reaching back to 1968. The region divided — Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, and Texas joined Oklahoma for the Republican ticket, while New Mexico and Colorado did not. Across the 30 presidential elections Oklahoma has taken part in, it has most often sided with the Republican party (20 times).
